Final Curtain Call for 2019 Season of Wild West Spectacular the Musical

Saturday, August 3 the 2019 cast of Wild West Spectacular the Musical took their final bow of the season. This Summer Season had 23 shows over 6 weeks at the historic Cody Theatre in downtown Cody, Wyoming.

Open auditions were held this spring and resulted in an 18 member cast and a 24 member dance ensemble. Being part of the cast takes commitment and dedication. Every night before a show, the cast meets with the Executive Director, Elizabeth Fernandez and Assistant RMDT Director, Brittany Schneider to go over notes, changes, mic checks, and warm-ups. Dancers stretch and run through dances. This all needs to be done before the doors opened to the audience at 7:30.

This was the 4th year for the show and every year continues to be bigger and better. Four new songs were added to the singing line up and one new tap number for the dancers. This season also brought 2 new characters to the stage; Gretel, a fictional fun loving spunky stage manager for Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. The non-fictional character, Liza (Elizabeth) Annie Oakley’s sister, was also added.  Nate Salsbury had a more prominent role to further portray his important historical role as the manager for Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.

The final bow brought the best season to date of Wild West Spectacular the Musical to an end. With big dreams and visions inspired by Buffalo Bill Cody’s life and story, the summer of 2020 is sure to “razzle dazzle” even more crowds.
