Nutcracker 2018

New Guest Artists for 2019 Nutcracker

Local non-profit, Rocky Mountain Dance Theatre is proud to announce two new guest artists performing the roles of the Cavalier and the Sugar Plum Fairy for this year’s 22nd Annual Nutcracker Ballet. Randy Pacheco and Sasha Vincett are both soloists for Ballet Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona. Pacheco is from Camagűey, Cuba and has been dancing with Ballet Arizona since 2015. Vincett is from Spring Grove, Pennsylvania and has been with Ballet Arizona since 2007.

For the past several years, Natalia Magnicaballi and Michael Cook have been RMDT’s guest artists for the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier.  Magnicaballi retired from professional dancing last year, making RMDT’s 2018 Nutcracker the finale for both Michael and Natalia.  Both have become a part of the RMDT family, and Natalia’s retirement has closed the chapter to many wonderful RMDT performances and memories.  Although they will be missed, RMDT is excited to welcome Randy and Sasha to the family.  Michael and Natalia will work with Randy and Sasha in preparation for RMDT’s 22nd Annual Nutcracker to ensure the character, choreography, and story line, created over the past several years, will continue!

Dates for this year’s performances are Saturday, December 14 at 7:00 and Sunday, December 15, at 2:00 at the Wynona Thompson Auditorium in Cody, Wyoming. Tickets for this year’s production will go on sale October 11, 2019 and can be purchased online at www.rockymountaindancetheatre.tix.com or at the Thistle in Cody, Wyoming.

Nonprofit, RMDT’s Annual Production of The Nutcracker offers members of the community, of all ages, an opportunity to participate in and contribute to a classical theatre experience, at the same time providing education in ballet and theatre techniques, academic knowledge, self-discipline, self-confidence, and artistic expression. In an atmosphere of encouragement and acceptance, The Nutcracker provides experience and interaction with peers as well as professionals in dance and theatre, such as lighting and stage experts from the University of West Florida and the University of Huston and guest artists from the likes of Ballet Arizona, New York City Ballet, Julliard, and the Suzanne Farrell Company of Washington DC. The RMDT Nutcracker is the only performance in the area which this type of exposure to the arts is afforded to our youth. The cast and crew work hard to ensure that The Nutcracker is of professional grade and entertaining for the community to enjoy.
