Costume, Hair & Makeup
Dancers do have required items they will need for these performances; please see link box above for what is provided and what performers need to have.
Most Christmas Costumes are provided for the Christmas performances, but they must be returned to RMSA. The date for return is on your calendar. Please note: If a costume is not returned, a $75 fee will be added to your account. If a costume is returned late, a $35 fee will be added to your account. Recently RMSA has started reusing past school year spring production costumes that dancers purchased previously the year before; IF THIS IS A COSTUME LISTED, please note ASAP if your dancer has the costume needed. If this costume has been damaged, outgrown, or your child wasn't in that class/performance we will need to order one.
Hair:
- Jazz & Contemporary all hair pulled back into a mid-high pony; no bangs, baby hairs, or whisps. Feel free to curl ponytail.
- Nutcracker is ALWAYS secure bun; no bangs. Take note if bun needs to be higher or lower due to costume hats/headpieces. BRING LOTS OF BOBBY PINS
Make up: Light Make-up is to enhance natural beauty as stage lights can wash/white faces out NOT to overwhelm.
- Light Foundation, Light blush, mascara, and mauve lipstick is appropriate. No eyeshadow.
OTHER:
- Dancers should NOT have on any jewelry, iwatches, etc.
- Female dancers should not have on underwear or bras (that is what dance tights & bodyliners are for)
- It is the parents responsibility to make sure your dancer has all the items needed for performances at least 3 weeks BEFORE performance week. This ensures we can order any items/sizes not in stock so they arrive in time for performances.
