Nutcracker Costumes are loaned to participants and you will be notified of mandatory costume day fittings, pick up day, and costume return day via a “RMDT Nutcracker Participant” group push notification through our app, on Nutcracker Calendars, and emails. Any costumes not returned ON THE SCHEDULED costume RETURN day after performances, will be charged $35.00 per costume to your account.
MANDATORY REHEARSAL ATTIRE
All participants must wear dance clothes to all rehearsals and adhere to the dress code below starting this fall.
Boys: BLACK sweatpants or male dance tights, PLAIN WHITE t-shirt, black jazz or black ballet shoes*
Girls: BLACK dance leotard, PINK tights, pink ballet shoes*, hair in bun (no bangs). Optional: BLACK dance skirt, black dance sweater.
*different roles may need different types of shoes; see costume list
Below are the items needed for each Nutcracker role which RMDT does not provide.
- PLEASE NOTE: ALL FEMALES with more than one role need body liner’s that match their skin tone as they wear these under costumes and this helps with changing out costumes backstage. Some costumes require body liners which are listed below. We can special order colors we do not carry in the dance store. Participants with only one role (and if body liners aren’t listed as needed) can benefit from body liners too as some costumes can be itchy.
